Big Cities: Financial and Managerial Challenges

The large Brazilian cities suffer from problems such as housing deficits, inadequate waste management, inefficient public transportation, pollution, unorganized growth, and growing pressure on public services. During this event, solutions for several of the main causes for the following problems were identified and demonstrated: corruption, poor administration, political disputes between levels of state governments and metropolitan governments and the unjust share of fiscal resources in the federation.
